Pastor MarkJust A Regular Guy

A little bit about me

I’m just a simple guy.  Seriously, I am!  I have a wonderful wife, two grown daughters, two grandchildren, and three cats!

I became a pastor in 2005 when I was appointed to a tiny little church in Tucson, Arizona and God blessed that ministry and we grew to over 450!

Since then, I have served two other churches in the Las Vegas / Henderson area.  One as a Senior Pastor and one as an Executive Pastor.

I am an Ordained Elder in good standing with the Global Methodist Church and looking forward to seeing what God has in store for me and my ministry.

Why I love what I do

Over the years I have seen many people come to have faith in Jesus Christ.  Many of these people never had a church home, had never been baptized, and never thought they would join a church.  While others were disgusted, disenfranchised, or disgruntled with organized religion and swore they would never join another church.

Well, I am right there with you!  Church shouldn’t be about strict rules nor should it be an activist platform for politics.  Church should be about God.  I know, sounds simple, right?

I have a strong passion to make the Good News of Jesus Christ accessible for anyone and everyone.  If you are looking for a fresh start, come join this new ministry!

By the way, this picture to the right is of our Launch Team. It is because of people like them (and many others) that I love what I do!  A group of people who came together, not because they were perfect, not because they have their act together, not even because they have rock solid faith.  These people came together because they are on a journey of faith and they are looking for an authentic traditional worship experience.  We don’t have it all figured out, but let’s go on a journey of faith, together.

Global Methodist Church

I have chosen to call the “Global Methodist Church” my home for several reasons.  One of the main reasons is that I subscribe to the Wesleyan-Arminian theological tradition.   What does that mean?  A lot of different things to different people.  Overall, it means I believe in salvation through God’s grace.

The Global Methodist Church has a focus on “Making Disciples of Jesus Christ” which is exactly what Jesus commissioned us to do in the scriptures.  I have witnessed this first-hand throughout the Western United States as well as seeing it happen throughout the world.  Being with a denomination that is focused on Jesus and one’s journey with God, warms my heart.
